Role OverviewAssists in providing a safe surgical environment by preparing the operating room, maintaining sterility, and assisting the surgeon and Registered Nurse. Maintains a sterile environment according to hospital policy and AORN Standards of Care.
What You Will Do
Performs scrub technician functions, assembles and adjusts equipment, passes instruments and supplies, holds retractors, and assists in applying surgical dressings. Prepares and cares for specimens, understands sterilization methods, and operates sterilizers.

Must have good technical knowledge of the surgical environment, principles of infection control, and sterility. Must be able to work in a team environment, respect patients' rights, and maintain a safe environment for the surgical patient.
Requirements
- Graduate of an Accredited Civilian or Military Operating Room Technologist/Surgical Technologist program
- Basic Life Support certification (obtain within 90 days)
- National Certification within 12 months of graduation and maintain certification
- Certified by an entity accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies and recognized by both the American College of Surgeons and the Association of Surgical Technologists
