Job Description
The NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene seeks a Surveillance Analyst to join the Bureau of Environmental Disease Prevention within the Division of Environmental Health. The successful candidate will work alongside a multidisciplinary team to maintain surveillance system applications, prepare quantitative reports, investigate reports of environmental diseases, and other duties as needed.

Requirements

  • Assist with the maintenance of surveillance system applications used to receive, clean, standardize, transmit, and investigate reports of environmental diseases including childhood blood lead surveillance
  • Conduct active and passive surveillance of childhood blood lead test reporting by clinical laboratories, point of care testing device facilities, and other health care providers that are required to report
  • Facilitate enrollment and reporting for blood lead point of care device facilities throughout NYC
  • Apply communication, data matching, and analysis to coordinate with Medicaid Managed Care Programs to develop and implement solutions to identify children who require blood lead testing
  • Prepare quantitative reports for project/solution status and conduct presentations with program stakeholders and external partners
  • Other duties as assigned
