Survey Field Technician

Sherwood Surveying & S.U.E. is seeking a qualified candidate for our Survey Field Technician position at our Spring Branch, Texas, location. The role involves performing various tasks related to surveying, including data collection, instrument operation, and data analysis.

What You Will Do

Responsibilities include compiling data, operating surveying instruments, running rods, recording measurements, performing calculations, conducting surveys, searching for section corners, operating land-information computer systems, setting out stakes, and preparing topographical maps.

Requirements

• HS Diploma/GED required
• Associates in Survey/Mapping preferred
• Able to perform well with minimal supervision in a team environment
• Good oral and written communication skills
• Experience in Electrical Utility Survey is a plus
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Microstation is preferred
• Knowledge of overhead and underground utilities, including power lines, is a plus
• Thorough knowledge of total station, GPS, and data collection, with the ability to adapt to new equipment and technologies is a plus
• Ability to work outside in all seasons for extended periods of time
• Ability to travel overnight to various parts of Texas and surrounding states
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record required
