Requirements

  • Minimum of 21 years of age
  • Certification in one of the following: Red Cross Lifeguarding or YMCA Lifeguarding
  • Minimum of one year of supervisory experience
  • Certification through the YMCA, American Swim Coaches Association (ASCA), or USA Swimming is preferred
  • Certification in YMCA Swim Official Level 1
  • Certification in Principles of YMCA Competitive Swimming and Diving is required within the first year of employment
  • Complete and maintain required trainings
  • Certification in CPR/First Aid/AED/O2
  • Satisfactory completion of a criminal background check and Child Protective Services check
