Job Description
As a Switchboard Operator at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, you will ensure all phone lines are answered in a timely manner and treat all incoming phone calls with dignity and efficiency. This role is a part-time position working every OTHER Saturday and Sunday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Requirements

  • Operates a PBX switchboard or telephone console to route incoming calls and place outgoing calls appropriately
  • Maintains a working knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices and procedures in accordance with hospital policy
  • Welcomes patient and family members in a professional manner
  • Contacts the nursing staff for emergency medical needs and answers patient and visitor questions
