Job Description
The Systems Administrator III evaluates, designs, documents, installs, tests, implements, monitors and maintains system and application software and hardware on shared server computer facilities.

Requirements

  • Leads and/or participates in complex departmental and cross functional projects which support client server technology and incorporate diverse computer system configurations
  • Support operational activities by devising and implementing logical solutions to problems encountered within the capacity and limitations of installed computer equipment
  • Assists in long and short term range planning for computer hardware, software, maintenance contracts and budgeting
  • Plans, analyzes and implements highly complex client server software and hardware systems for use as multi-user computer facilities
  • Collects, reports, analyzes and interprets performance and availability measurement data for complex facilities to ensure peak performance and highly available distributed computer systems
  • Provides user access to network resources such as printers, plotters, electronic mail and the Internet
  • Identifies and implements methods to measure quality and effectiveness of all work processes
  • Assists with the development of disaster recovery and contingency plans for software, hardware and security failures
  • Serves as a subject matter expert resource, mentors and trains less experienced administrators
  • Creates and maintains implementation, testing, backout, backup, modification, and operational documentation and procedures for multi-user distributed facilities
  • Provides consulting, technical guidance and information regarding the multi-tasking, multi-user operating system to applications development, computer operations staff and business units
