Role OverviewThe Systems Engineer analyzes user requirements, concept of operations documents, and high-level system architectures to develop system requirements specifications. This role provides technical leadership for the integration of requirements, design, and technology, incorporates new plans, designs, and systems into ongoing operations, and develops technical and system architecture documentation.
What You Will Do
Analyze user requirements, concept of operations documents, and high-level system architectures to develop system requirements specifications. Lead design and development activities based on system requirements. Guide users in formulating requirements, advise alternative approaches, and conduct feasibility studies.
Why It Might Be a Fit
The Systems Engineer guides system development and implementation planning through assessment or preparation of system engineering management plans and system integration and test plans. Ensure technical integrity of work performed and deliverables associated with Systems Engineering responsibilities.

- Ability to allocate real-time process budgets and error budgets to systems and subsystem components.
- Ability to derive understanding of stakeholder needs and essential functions from system requirements.
- Ability to derive lower-level requirements from higher-level allocated requirements ensuring completeness, correctness, uniqueness, unambiguity, realizability, and verifiability.
- Ability to generate alternative system concepts, physical architectures, and design solutions.
- Ability to participate in establishing and gaining approval of system or component definitions providing common reference points for hardware and software developers.
- Ability to define methods, processes, and evaluation criteria for verification of systems, subsystems, and work products against requirements in written plans.
- Ability to develop system design solutions that satisfy system requirements and fulfill functional analysis.
- Ability to develop derived requirements for Information Assurance Services and Basic Information Assurance Mechanisms including security mechanism technology.
- Ability to review and provide input to program and contract work breakdown structures, work packages, and integrated master plans.
