Job Description
The New York City Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD) is seeking a Systems Analyst/Product Owner to join the Contract & Financials team. The Systems Analyst is responsible for analyzing business requests and applying relevant process analysis to produce a cohesive requirement. The role involves assessing the overall analysis, design, and delivery of assigned business, operational & technical projects, and recommending best practices for solutions based on business needs.
Requirements
A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college including or supplemented by 24 semester credits in computer science or a related computer field
One year of satisfactory full-time computer software experience in computer systems development and analysis, applications programming, database administration, maintenance and support, systems programming, data communications, mainframe development, mobile development, web development and design
Ability to communicate changes, enhancements and modifications of business requirements
Ability to define the vision for the team's product
Ability to manage the product backlog and prioritize them based on changing requirements
Ability to develop user stories/product backlog items
Ability to monitor and evaluate product progress at each stage of the process
Ability to liaise with the product team and end users to deliver updates
Ability to participate in Scrum meetings and product sprints
Ability to perform user acceptance testing to validate requirements &/or defect management
Ability to define reporting and alerting requirements
Ability to help design, document and maintain system processes
Ability to report on common sources of technical issues or questions and make recommendations to product team
Ability to communicate key insights and finding to product team
Ability to assist in tracking of documentation, including specifications, testing plans, installation/operational/performance qualifications, training plans, etc.
Ability to facilitate compliance with State and agency policies by developing requirements that will support those policies
Ability to provide peer to peer support to other Systems Analyst and Quality Assurance Analyst team members
Ability to assist in creating new business analysis standards and guidelines and in the adoption of new and emerging technologies and practices
