Role OverviewWe are seeking an early-career Systems Modeling & Simulation Engineer to support the development, analysis, and flight testing of advanced aerospace systems. This engineer will apply Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), SysML, and modeling and simulation (M&S) techniques to help define system architectures, evaluate system behavior and performance, manage interfaces, and support the development of prototype flight hardware.
What You Will Do
Develop and maintain SysML system models representing system architecture, requirements, behaviors, interfaces, parameters, and verification relationships. Apply MBSE practices throughout the engineering lifecycle, from concept development and requirements definition through integration, test, and flight demonstration.
Why It Might Be a Fit
The ideal candidate combines a strong systems engineering foundation with hands-on technical aptitude. This is not primarily a documentation role: the engineer will work closely with simulation, guidance/navigation/control (GNC), software, electrical, mechanical, test, and flight engineering teams to develop models that directly support engineering decisions and hardware development.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Physics, or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant engineering experience in aerospace, defense, automotive, robotics, autonomous systems, or another complex engineered-system environment.
- Practical experience using SysML and Model-Based Systems Engineering concepts.
- Experience with a SysML modeling environment such as Cameo Systems Modeler / MagicDraw, CATIA Magic, Enterprise Architect, Rhapsody, or similar.
- Understanding of systems engineering concepts including: Requirements development and decomposition, Functional analysis, Logical and physical architecture, Interface definition, Verification and validation, Requirements traceability.
- Experience with engineering modeling, simulation, analysis, or test.
- Ability to understand multidisciplinary engineering problems and represent them clearly through models.
- Strong technical communication skills and ability to work closely with engineers across multiple disciplines.
Benefits
- Comprehensive total rewards approach to compensation
- Competitive benefits package designed to support employees' health, well-being, and professional growth
- Salary range: $104,000 - $133,000 annually
