Target Security Specialist

As a Target Security Specialist, you will support the Assets Protection team to keep guests, team members, and the brand safe and secure. This role involves leading through crisis events, mitigating shortage risks, and preventing theft and fraud to ensure product availability. You will work in a fast-paced retail environment at a specific store location.

What You Will Do

Your typical day includes welcoming guests at the front of store, leading a physical security culture, responding to and documenting security incidents, and conducting merchandise recoveries. You will perform receipt checks for high-dollar merchandise, use the video surveillance system, and submit incident documentation. You may also apprehend subjects in accordance with company policy.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age or older
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Meet any state or local licensure and/or other legal requirements related to the position
• Welcoming and helpful attitude toward guests and other team members
• Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners, and other technology equipment as directed
• Effective communication skills
• Work both independently and with a team
• Manage workload and prioritize tasks independently
• Capability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment and accomplish multiple tasks within established timeframes
• Climb up and down ladders
• Apprehend subjects in accordance with company policy
• Scan, handle and move merchandise efficiently and safely, including frequently lifting or moving merchandise up to 40 pounds
• Flexible work schedule (e.g., nights, weekends and holidays); reliable and prompt attendance necessary
• Capable of working in and exposure to varying temperatures, humidity, and other elements while performing certain job duties
• Ability to remain mobile for the duration of a scheduled shift (shift length may vary)
