Target Security Specialist

The Target Security Specialist is responsible for keeping guests and team members safe and secure, responding to security incidents, and promoting a physical security culture throughout the store. The role involves using intelligence-led tactics, crisis response, and de-escalation techniques to maintain a safe and secure environment. The Specialist will also work with team members to build relationships with public safety officials and law enforcement. The role requires a welcoming and helpful attitude toward all guests and other team members, effective communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and with a team.

What You Will Do

A typical day for a Target Security Specialist will involve creating an easy, inspiring, and friendly guest experience by greeting guests, helping them find what they need, and resolving issues. The Specialist will also respond to and accurately document security incidents, use Target's video surveillance system, and conduct merchandise theft recoveries. Additionally, the Specialist will promote a physical security culture by assessing and maintaining safe and secure standards throughout the store.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age or older
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Meet any state or local licensure and/or other legal requirements related to the position
• Welcoming and helpful attitude toward all guests and other team members
• Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners, and other technology equipment as directed
• Effective communication skills
• Work both independently and with a team
• Manage workload and prioritize tasks independently
• Capability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment and accomplish multiple tasks within established timeframes
