Role OverviewThe Target Security Specialist role involves keeping team members and guests safe and secure, responding to crisis events, and building relationships with store leaders and public safety officials. The role requires using intelligence-led tactics, de-escalation techniques, and physical security controls to maintain a safe and secure environment. The Specialist will also use Target's video surveillance system, document security incidents, and apprehend subjects in accordance with company policy.
What You Will Do
A typical day for a Target Security Specialist will include greeting guests, helping them find what they need, resolving issues, and promoting a physical security culture throughout the store. The Specialist will also respond to security incidents, accurately document cases, and leverage de-escalation tactics and resources.

Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age or older
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Meet any state or local licensure and/or other legal requirements related to the position
- Welcoming and helpful attitude toward all guests and other team members
- Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners, and other technology equipment as directed
