Target Security Specialist

The Target Security Specialist role involves keeping guests and team members safe and secure, responding to crisis events, and building relationships with store leaders and public safety officials. The role requires using intelligence-led tactics, de-escalation techniques, and physical security controls to maintain a safe and secure environment. The Specialist will also use Target's video surveillance system and document security incidents in a timely manner.

What You Will Do

A typical day for a Target Security Specialist includes greeting guests, helping them find what they need, resolving issues, and promoting a physical security culture. The Specialist will also respond to security incidents, accurately document them, and leverage de-escalation tactics and resources. Additionally, they will conduct merchandise theft recoveries, prevent theft and shortage, and submit documentation in the case management system.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age or older
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Meet any state or local licensure and/or other legal requirements related to the position
• Welcoming and helpful attitude toward all guests and other team members
• Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners, and other technology equipment as directed
• Effective communication skills
• Work both independently and with a team
• Manage workload and prioritize tasks independently
• Capability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment and accomplish multiple tasks within established timeframes
