Target Security Specialist

The Target Security Specialist is responsible for keeping guests and team members safe and secure, responding to crisis events, and maintaining a positive and respectful attitude. The role involves using intelligence-led tactics, de-escalation techniques, and physical security controls to create a secure environment. The Specialist will also assist peers in other areas, adjust to business and guest needs, and promote a physical security culture.

What You Will Do

Responsibilities include greeting guests, helping them find what they need, resolving issues, and promoting a physical security culture. The Specialist will also respond to security incidents, accurately document cases, and leverage de-escalation tactics. They will conduct merchandise theft recoveries, prevent theft and shortage, and submit documentation in the case management system.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age or older
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Meet any state or local licensure and/or other legal requirements related to the position
• Welcoming and helpful attitude toward all guests and other team members
• Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners, and other technology equipment as directed
• Effective communication skills
• Work both independently and with a team
• Manage workload and prioritize tasks independently
• Capability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment and accomplish multiple tasks within established timeframes
