Role Overview

The Ohio Department of Taxation is seeking a Tax Analyst to perform research activities, analyze proposed tax changes, and analyze existing taxes to provide detailed information and insight into tax receipts and forecasts of future results.

What You Will Do

As a Tax Analyst, you will evaluate the impact of proposed tax changes on state tax receipts, analyze existing taxes for revenue impact, and provide forecasts of future results, as well as conduct research on tax policy issues.

Why It Might Be a Fit

The successful candidate will have a strong background in economics, statistics, business administration, or public administration, and experience with statistical software, query languages, and data base analysis techniques.

Requirements

  • Completion of graduate core program in economics, statistics, business administration or public administration
  • 36 mos. trg. or 36 mos. exp. in use of statistical software (e.g., SAS), query languages & data base analysis techniques
  • 36mos. trg. or 36 mos. exp. in tax law & government structure & process (e.g., laws, legal codes, court procedures, precedents, government regulations, executive orders & agency rules pertaining to taxation)
  • 36mos. trg. or 36 mos. exp. in academic analytical research
