Job Description
The Department of Revenue is seeking a Tax Counsel to evaluate and recommend resolutions to complex tax matters, conduct hearings and negotiate settlements, and supervise appeals officers.

Requirements

  • Ability to interpret and apply laws, rules, and regulations governing taxation.
  • Thorough knowledge of legal research methods and procedures.
  • Ability to read and interpret legal documents.
  • Strong writing skills.
  • Ability to conduct administrative hearings and negotiate settlements.
  • Applicants must have a Juris Doctor (JD) degree and admission to the Massachusetts Bar Association.
