Job Description
The Small Engine Technician is responsible for maintaining and repairing small engines used in outdoor power equipment, such as lawn mowers, chainsaws, and snow blowers. This position includes diagnosing mechanical problems, performing routine services, and providing customer support in-person or through remote consultations.

Requirements

  • Diagnose mechanical problems in equipment with small engines
  • Perform routine maintenance, such as oil changes, air filter replacements, spark plug inspections, and carburetor cleanings
  • Repair or replace defective components, such as belts, spark plugs, and fuel systems
  • Provide clear explanations to customers regarding necessary repairs and maintenance recommendations
  • Document service work performed and ensure that accurate records are kept for each job
  • Ensure that all equipment meets manufacturer specifications and operates optimally
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety protocols
  • Stay up-to-date on new technologies and methods for repairing small engines
