Job Description
The Small Engine Technician is responsible for the maintenance and repair of small engines used in outdoor power equipment, such as lawn mowers, chain saws, and snow blowers. This position includes diagnosing mechanical problems, performing routine services, and providing support to customers both in person and remotely or virtually.

Requirements

  • Diagnose mechanical problems in small engine-equipped equipment (e.g., lawn mowers, chain saws, snow blowers)
  • Perform routine maintenance, such as oil changes, air filter replacements, spark plug inspections, and carburetor cleaning
  • Repair or replace faulty components, such as belts, spark plugs, and fuel systems
  • Explain repair requirements and maintenance recommendations clearly to customers
  • Document service work performed and ensure accurate records are kept for each job
  • Ensure all equipment meets manufacturer specifications and operates optimally
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to safety protocols
  • Stay up-to-date on new technologies and engine repair methods
