Job Description
The Small Engine Technician is responsible for the maintenance and repair of small engines used in outdoor power equipment, such as lawn mowers, chain saws, and snow blowers. The technician advises customers on the necessary repairs or maintenance, ensures that the equipment operates according to the manufacturer's specifications, and maintains a detailed record of the service for both in-shop and virtual interactions.

Requirements

  • Diagnose mechanical problems in equipment with small engines
  • Perform routine maintenance, such as oil changes, air filter replacements, spark plug inspections, and carburetor cleanings
  • Repair or replace faulty components, such as belts, spark plugs, and fuel systems
  • Provide clear explanations to customers on the necessary repairs and maintenance recommendations
  • Document the work performed and ensure that accurate records are kept for each job
  • Ensure that all equipment meets manufacturer specifications and operates optimally
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety protocols
  • Stay up-to-date on new technologies and methods for small engine repair
