Job Description
The Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction is seeking a Teacher 1 to provide instruction in business office education and individual assistance to inmates at the Dayton Correctional Institution. The ideal candidate will have a baccalaureate degree or less, a teacher certificate/license, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Requirements

  • Provides instruction in business office education and individual assistance
  • Assesses educational needs of inmates
  • Develops lesson plans to address those needs
  • Administers, scores, and interprets examinations and proficiency indicators
  • Maintains discipline and/or security
  • Counsels students concerning their performance, behavior, and/or personal problems
  • Attends meetings as required
  • Prepares required records and reports
  • Inventories and orders supplies and materials needed
  • Researches, selects, and recommends new teaching materials
  • Attends in-service training sessions and workshops for professional development
