Job Description
The Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction is seeking a Teacher 1 (Career-Tech - Auto Mechanics) to provide instruction and individual assistance to inmates in auto mechanics. The ideal candidate will have a baccalaureate degree or less, a Teacher Certificate/License, and experience in teaching and automotive repair.

Requirements

  • Works under general direction and requires considerable knowledge of teacher education
  • Provides instruction in auto mechanics and individual assistance
  • Assesses educational needs of inmates
  • Develops lesson plans to address those needs
  • Maintains discipline and/or security
  • Counsels students concerning their performance, behavior and/or personal problems
  • Attend meetings as required
  • Prepares required records and reports
  • Inventories and orders supplies and materials needed
  • Sesearches, selects and recommends new teaching materials
  • Attends in-service training sessions and workshops for professional development
