Job Description
This position works under general direction and requires considerable knowledge of teacher education. Provides instruction in basic fundamental of carpentry and individual assistance, assesses educational needs of inmates, develops lesson plans, and maintains discipline and/or security.

Requirements

  • Provides instruction in basic fundamental of carpentry and individual assistance
  • Assesses educational needs of inmates
  • Develops lesson plans to address those needs to include individual assignments and training
  • Maintains discipline and/or security
  • Counsels’ students concerning their performance, behavior and/or personal problems.
  • Attends meetings as required
  • Prepares required records and reports
  • Inventories and orders supplies and materials needed
  • Researches, selects and recommends new teaching materials.
  • Attends in-service training sessions and workshops for professional development
  • Performs other duties as assigned
