Job Description
We are seeking a Teacher 1 to provide instruction in turf management and business management for residential and commercial property applications at the Allen Correctional Institution in Lima, Ohio. The ideal candidate will have a baccalaureate degree or less and a Teacher Certificate/License appropriate for career-tech - horticulture & grade level.

Requirements

  • Provides instruction in turf management and business management
  • Assesses educational needs of inmates
  • Develops lesson plans to address those needs
  • Administers, scores and interprets examinations and proficiency indicators
  • Maintains discipline and/or security
  • Counsels students concerning their performance, behavior and/or personal problems
  • Attends meetings as required
  • Prepares required records and reports
  • Inventories and orders supplies and materials needed
  • Researches, selects, and recommends new teaching materials
