Role Overview

The Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction is seeking a Teacher 1 (Literacy) to provide instruction in basic education needs, assess educational needs of inmates, and develop lesson plans to address those needs. The successful candidate will work under general direction and require considerable knowledge of teacher education. The role is part of a team that cares for Ohioans, and the department provides a variety of quality, competitive benefits to eligible full-time and part-time employees.

What You Will Do

The Teacher 1 (Literacy) will provide instruction in basic education needs, assess educational needs of inmates, develop lesson plans to address those needs, and provide individual assistance. The role also involves maintaining discipline and/or security, counseling students, and preparing required records and reports.
