Role Overview

The Teacher Assistant will assist with the implementation of the early childhood developmentally educational program. They will work with the Teacher in developing activities that will be presented to parents. The Teacher Assistant will work as a team with the teacher, parents, and other volunteers in preparing and carrying out the daily activities of the classroom.

What You Will Do

Some of the duties and responsibilities include: working with the teacher and parents to develop a culturally relevant education program, completing and reviewing child developmental assessments, helping to organize the classroom into specific learning centers, and maintaining confidentiality in all matters pertaining to families and children.

Why It Might Be a Fit

The ideal candidate will have two years of experience working in a classroom in the field of early care and education, preferably with a preschool population and working families. Knowledge of or experience working with at-risk children is also preferred. Bilingual, bicultural, in the Latino culture is a plus.

Requirements

  • Child Development Associate (CDA) or 3 Early Childhood Education credits
  • Two (2) years of experience working in a classroom in the field of early care and education
  • Knowledge of or experience working with at-risk children
  • Bilingual, bicultural, in the Latino culture preferred
