Job Description
For over 125 years, Catholic Charities Brooklyn and Queens has been providing quality social services to the neighborhoods of Brooklyn and Queens. The Early Head Start Teacher will lead the teaching team in planning and executing age and developmentally appropriate activities reflecting the Montessori curriculum.

Requirements

  • CDA required with Study Plan (60 CREDITS including 24 credits in Education)
  • Associate Degree/Bachelor Degree/Master Degree
  • N.Y.S. Initial/Professional Certification - Birth-2, with BA or Masters in related field preferred
  • Minimum of 1 year of teaching experience in a pre-school classroom or infant toddler classroom
  • If not already Montessori trained, must commit to enroll in the Agency’s Montessori training program within the first year of hire
  • Ability to nurture and care children from 2 months of age through 24 months of age
  • Bilingual Spanish/English; Russian/English; Chinese/English; Korean/English; English/Creole speaking preferred
  • Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds
  • Able to travel to multiple locations within the five boroughs as needed
