Role Overview

The Interventionist will develop a student-centered approach to close the achievement gap in English, Language, and Arts. The ELA Interventionist will provide intervention and academic supports aligned to the District Response to Intervention Plan to ensure students master grade level standards.

What You Will Do

Collaborate with campus teachers to deliver research-based ELA instruction, analyze data to monitor student progress, and implement a progress monitoring system for all students within intervention groups.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Master's Degree preferred
  • Valid Teaching Certification Issued by Texas Education Agency
  • Knowledge of and training on the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS), ELA curriculum, and best practices in ELA instruction
  • Proven knowledge of Guided ELA instruction and use of manipulatives to develop conceptual understanding for ELA students
  • Demonstrated evidence of professional growth, including leadership or participation in a wide range of professional learning experiences
  • Demonstrated communication skills and interpersonal skills that promote collaboration and effective communication with adults
  • Comprehensive knowledge of instructional strategies, data for decision making, intervention and enrichment strategies, student assessment, and use of instructional technology
  • Strong organizational and classroom management skills
