Role OverviewThis is a full-time, on-site role as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) serving a school located in South Elgin, IL. The role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as a passion for working with students with special needs. The Teacher of the Blind or Visually Impaired (TVI) will be responsible for providing teaching and case management services to students, conducting assessments, developing IEP plans, evaluating progress, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams.
What You Will Do
Deliver instruction tailored to meet the diverse learning styles and needs of students, develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with disabilities, and maintain accurate records of student performance, behavior, and progress.

Requirements
- Bachelors or Masters Degree or higher in Special Education
- Certification for Teaching Exceptional Children – Visually Impaired, Grades Primary through 12
- 1+ years of experience in a school setting preferred
- Experience working with visually Impaired children
- Organizational and time management skills
- Proficient in use of technology
- Fingerprint background clearance
- Ability to collaborate with school staff and parents with a demonstrated ability to exercise a high level of tact and discretion in both internal and external communications
