Job Description
Role Overview

This itinerant position supports students from elementary through high school across multiple school locations. You will maintain an approximate direct-service caseload of 10 students while also providing consultations and conducting evaluations as needed.

What You Will Do

Provide individualized special education services to students with visual impairments based on their IEPs, conduct initial screenings and comprehensive evaluations as needed, and participate in the IEP process for students receiving special education services.

Requirements

  • Current license or certification required to practice as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired in the state of Maryland
  • Experience working with students with visual impairments in an educational setting preferred
  • Experience working effectively with culturally diverse students and families
  • Strong communication, collaboration, organization, and documentation skills
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with school-based teams
  • Ability to travel between multiple school locations
