Role Overview

The LVT Learning & Enablement team is seeking a proactive Technical Writer to create and maintain high-quality documentation across our hardware and software ecosystems. In this role, you’ll partner directly with product managers, hardware engineers, software developers, and field teams to translate technical concepts into clear, actionable guides for internal teams and external customers.

What You Will Do

Draft, edit, and maintain hardware technical documentation, including field installation guides, preventive maintenance manuals, and hardware troubleshooting procedures. Work directly on-site at our manufacturing and fabrication facilities, conducting hands-on teardowns and observations of mobile solar units, mast assemblies, power subsystems, and camera/sensor payloads.

Requirements

  • 1–3 years of experience as a Technical Writer supporting hardware products in a fast-growing technology environment.
  • Hands-on experience with structured authoring tools (CCMS such as Paligo, MadCap Flare, or Arbortext).
  • Familiarity with video capture equipment, lighting/audio setup in industrial settings, and non-linear video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Camtasia, Final Cut Pro).
  • Comfortable interpreting engineering documentation, CAD files, Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), and engineering outlines.
  • Ability to execute assigned documentation projects under general supervision, asking clarifying questions when encountering ambiguous specifications
  • Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills; confident advocating for the end-user perspective alongside developers and engineers.
  • A drive to deeply understand how products work under the hood and a passion for advocating for customer clarity over internal jargon.
