Job Description
Role Overview

The Technician B (E-M) assists in laboratory or research work and operates experimental and technical equipment under the supervision of scientific personnel or technicians of higher grade. The role involves integrating prebuilt digital components, RF system components, cabling, and mechanical elements and testing for correct functionality and/or performance based on established test procedures. The Technician B (E-M) will also fabricate and assemble electronics and mechanical components from schematics and drawings, and provide support to organizing and maintaining laboratory spaces and test equipment.

What You Will Do

The Technician B (E-M) will work on various tasks such as integrating digital components, testing equipment, and fabricating and assembling electronics and mechanical components. The role requires eagerness to learn highly technical equipment, procedures, and techniques. Some light-to-moderate chassis and equipment lifting up to a maximum of 60 pounds and occasional travel to field sites are also part of the job.

Requirements

  • Graduation from a two-year day technical school or its equivalent in applicable experience
  • Familiarity with electronics test equipment such as oscilloscope, spectrum analyzers, and other equipment to measure electrical performance
  • Familiarity with writing and/or using software scripts to execute tests and performance measurements
  • Familiarity or experience with using 3D printing equipment
  • Ability to generate drawings and/or documentation to document test procedures and configurations
