Telephone Triage Nurse

The Telephone Triage Nurse provides patient support through telephonic or electronic communication and assists in coordination of care through multiple service lines.

Triage patients with both acute and chronic needs via telephone or other electronic communication and determine the next steps of action.

Requirements

• Knowledge of standard nursing procedures and chronic condition education
• Strong customer service and the ability to maintain a positive attitude under pressure
• Ability to communicate effectively both oral/written with a broad base of stakeholders
• Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy and confidentiality
• Ability to think critically, solve problems, and work independently with minimal supervision
• Moderate level of desktop computer skills to include the O365 productivity software suite
• In-depth knowledge and efficiency with EHR systems
• A High School Diploma or GED
• Graduation from an accredited RN or LPN program
• Active RN or LPN license in the State of Tennessee
• BLS certification
• 1-3 years of experience
• Outpatient experience is preferred
