Job Description
Temporary Materials Lab Technician positions at the Montana Department of Transportation, responsible for laboratory testing of materials used in highway and bridge construction and maintenance.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Level 1: 0-1 year of experience in materials lab technician related work
  • Level 2: 1-2 years of experience in materials lab technician related work
  • Level 3: 2+ years of experience in materials lab technician related work
  • Knowledge of materials inspection and testing procedures
  • Knowledge of laboratory testing protocols and procedures
  • Ability to operate a variety of testing equipment (mechanical and electrical)
  • Ability to use computer software, interpret results and maintain accuracy
  • Ability to manage time effectively, adapt to changing priorities and maintain attention to detail
