Job Description
Role Overview

We are looking for a skilled and motivated Maintenance Technician I for our Port of Tampa terminal facility. This hourly position will report directly to the Terminal Manager. The role involves performing maintenance work, leading safety trainings, and communicating with terminal personnel. The successful candidate will have advanced welding and torching experience, fabrication experience, and the ability to improve equipment designs when necessary.

What You Will Do

Perform all required safety checks, lead coworkers or contractors in complex repairs, and perform preventative maintenance work on fixed and mobile equipment. The role also involves troubleshooting and diagnosis of equipment issues, leading Root Cause Analysis, and developing and maintaining records of work performed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Current Florida Driver's License
  • Clean Motor Vehicle Record
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a TWIC card
  • 3 years of experience in mechanical repair, installation, and construction in a plant or industrial environment
  • Certification in industrial maintenance a plus
  • Advanced welding skills, certification a plus
  • Working knowledge of basic electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
  • Use of all shop equipment such as welding and torching equipment
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office applications knowledge and CMMS experience preferred
  • Basic knowledge of mathematics and fractions for hardware
  • Thorough knowledge of occupational hazards, OSHA regulations, and of related safety practices
  • Ability to interpret service manuals, diagrams, and schematics
  • Ability to task train other personnel and lead repair jobs
