Role OverviewDesign and development of test equipment, machines, fixtures, and instrumentation required to test and qualify products, including shock absorbers, rate controls, actuators, dampers, elastomer and wire rope isolators, and special products to meet customer expectations.
What You Will Do
Designs and specifies test equipment, builds hardware, writes software profiles, and debugs the test system. Operates, maintains, and troubleshoots 3D printers. Helps establish and write Qualification Test Plans, Qualification Test Procedures, Acceptance Test Procedures, and Qualification Test Reports.
Why It Might Be a Fit
Works with Manufacturing Engineering to review production test fixture designs, collaborates with other groups, and works with outside test facilities to co-ordinate testing as required to meet customer requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree (B. S.) in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
- 1-3 years min. as Test Engineer or Mechanical Engineer
- Hands on experience with general laboratory electronic instruments
- LabVIEW, MATLAB, and Visual Basic skills a preference
- CAD, Solid Works, or other 3-D CAD systems experience
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to use Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other design software
