Job Description
The Maintenance Specialist IV position at the Texas Historical Commission is responsible for performing highly complex building maintenance, construction, and grounds work at the Slaton Harvey House State Historic Sites. The job involves caring for and maintaining the appearance of grounds and gardens, maintaining and repairing structures, tools, and equipment, and performing general custodial duties.

Requirements

  • Graduation from a senior high school or the equivalent
  • Minimum four years' work experience in construction, maintenance, and repair work
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
  • Ability to maintain the security or integrity of critical infrastructure
  • Ability to work in a setting requiring self-motivation and cooperative decision-making
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse groups of people
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet strict deadlines
  • Ability to adapt successfully and quickly to change and deliver quality results in a timely manner
