Role OverviewWe are searching for a Therapy Technician who works well in a fast-paced hospital setting. In this position, you'll provide assistance to occupational/physical therapists and therapy assistants in providing treatment programs for patients ages 0 - adulthood at Texas Children's Hospital The Woodlands.
What You Will Do
You will provide set-up/clean-up of patient care areas, perform patient care activities within your training scope, coordinate patient transportation schedules, ensure adequate inventory of linen and supplies, clean and disinfect hydrotherapy whirlpools and therapy mats, and complete appropriate documentation according to departmental and hospital guidelines.
Why It Might Be a Fit
This role is ideal for someone with a high school diploma or equivalent and a basic familiarity with a medical environment. Experience working with children is preferred. You must be articulate, courteous, and supportive in dealing with hospital personnel, patients, and parents. A current basic life support certification or willingness to attend a CPR course is preferred.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent education with a basic familiarity with a medical environment preferred
- Experience with working with children in some capacity is preferred
- A current basic life support certification or schedule to attend a CPR certification course is preferred
- Demonstration of the basic clinical and non-clinical competencies
- Ability to be articulate, courteous and supportive in dealing with hospital, administrative and departmental personnel, patients and parents
- Independently support and assist in patient care by following the direction of a therapist or therapy assistant
