Assist teachers in conducting learning experiences for students, relieve teachers of non-instructional duties, and maintain discipline in the classroom.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or USA equivalency; Associate Degree or 48 College credit hours or pass an academic assessment; Valid Texas educational aide certificate
  • Six months of knowledge and skills acquired through work experience or successful completion of a specific training program for teacher assistants
  • Demonstrated initiative and a willingness to follow verbal and written instructions
  • Demonstrated general knowledge of child growth/development and behavior characteristics
