Role OverviewSimpson Strong-Tie is a leader in engineered structural connectors, software, and solutions for the building industry. As a Tool & Die Maker, you will support manufacturing by constructing and machining details for dies, and be responsible for repairing and building dies as well as prototypes.
What You Will Do
Your responsibilities will include selecting, dressing, setting up, and using grinding wheels for surface grinding and form grinding, performing die maintenance, machining parts using a lathe, mill, drill press, and other typical shop equipment, and confirming assembly by verifying dimensions, clearances, and alignment of parts and components.

If you have an Associate's degree or equivalent, a minimum of 5 years of progressive dies and tools experience, and skills in CAD/CAM, communication, self-management, creative and innovative thinking, teamwork, and attention to detail, you may be a good fit for this role.
Requirements
- Associate's degree (AA) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive dies and tools experience
- Ability to work with AutoCAD
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations
- Ability to be self-directed to solve issues and work independently
- Ability to experiment with new ideas, methodologies, and procedures
- Ability to interact effectively with other technicians, employees, and vendors
- Ability to diligently attend to details and pursue quality in accomplishing tasks
