Role OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Tool & Die Maker for a direct-hire opportunity in Sterling Heights. This position is responsible for building, repairing, maintaining, and modifying dies, tooling, fixtures, gauges, and related equipment used in a production environment.
What You Will Do
Key responsibilities include reading and interpreting blueprints, planning operations, calculating dimensions, setting up and operating machine tools, machining and grinding components, fitting and assembling die components, troubleshooting and repairing production dies, inspecting completed dies, and performing additional Tool & Die responsibilities.
Why It Might Be a Fit
The ideal candidate will have at least five years of Tool & Die experience within a manufacturing or production setting, with strong new die build experience a plus.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years of Tool & Die experience
- Journeyman card in Tool & Die Making or Machining (preferred)
- Deep draw die experience (a plus)
- Welding experience (preferred)
- Ability to read blueprints and understand machining tolerances and specifications
- Working knowledge of mathematics and precision measuring equipment
- Experience safely operating machine tools, forklifts, and overhead cranes
