Job Description
Tooling Engineer position at Amsted Automotive Group, Propulsion Systems, in Saginaw, MI. Develops and reviews designs for stamping dies, fixtures, gauges, and related tooling, ensuring manufacturability, dimensional accuracy, and safety.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals
  • Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Fusion360, and similar)
  • Knowledge of metal stamping processes, die design principles, tool steels, heat treatment, and die maintenance practices
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and tolerance requirements
  • Root‐cause analysis and problem‐solving capabilities using Six Sigma or similar methods
  • Understanding of statistical tools for capability analysis (Cp/Cpk)
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to multitask and support a fast‐paced manufacturing environment
  • Familiarity with safety standards and ergonomic considerations related to tooling and manufacturing operations
