Job Description
Marine Enhancement internship positions will assist in the propagation and distribution of marine finfish throughout the coastal waters of Texas, including collecting and entry of hatchery data, performing fish culture duties, and participating in public outreach activities.

Requirements

  • Current enrollment as an undergraduate or graduate student in an accredited college or university or recent graduate with a bachelor’s degree or higher within the last 6 months.
  • Minimum of 18 completed semester credit hours from an accredited college or university at time of application.
  • Must have an overall grade point average (GPA) of 2.5 or higher on a 4.0 grade point scale or 'Pass' on a Pass/Fail system.
  • Valid state driver’s license
  • Ability to learn to identify common marine finfish
  • Ability to handle marine organisms
  • Ability to collect and record data
  • Ability to fully participate in field and water-based sampling activities
  • Ability to accurately follow instructions
  • Ability to work as a member of a team
  • Ability to maintain facilities and equipment
  • Ability to perform manual labor, including lifting equipment and materials up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to conduct work activities in accordance with TPWD safety program
