Role Overview

As a Trade Compliance Analyst at GEODIS, you will classify products according to the HTSUSA, apply regulatory and judicial decisions to products, and advise clients on alternate product design or sourcing options to minimize import duties. You will also input classification determinations into product libraries, meet with clients and government officials, and represent the company at industry events. Your role will involve preparing various reports, conducting line reviews, and managing and training other employees on classification and regulation issues.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years experience in customs brokerage and/or import company
  • Experience in classifying textiles, apparel and accessories
  • Knowledge of Harmonized Tariff Schedule of US
  • Knowledge of US Customs and Border Protection laws and regulations
  • US Customs Broker License
  • PC literate with experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to read, interpret, analyze, and assimilate regulations and technical documents
  • Ability to apply common sense, professional judgment, and technical expertise
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, and co-workers
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast pace and high-demanding environment
