Traffic Customer Service & Data Entry Operator/CHAMP Dispatcher

We are seeking a Traffic Customer Service & Data Entry Operator/CHAMP Dispatcher to work in our District 3 Operation Center in Thomaston, GA. This is an entry-level role that provides on-the-job training. The position necessitates physical presence at the client's location with limited prospects for remote or work-from-home opportunities.

What You Will Do

The successful candidate will answer calls from the traveling public, provide customer service, work with GDOT personnel, detect and manage traffic incidents, and perform record keeping and data gathering.

Requirements

• Data Entry Skills-must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Experience in Call center, extensive customer service background.
• Previous experience working in a position which includes heavy telephone, radio and computer usage.
• 911 Operator or dispatching preferred.
• Must be able to multitask.
• Demonstrated proficiency in dispatching field personnel via radio.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills to include the use of proper English, diction, grammar and spelling.
• Demonstrate an ability and interest in learning new computer programs.
• Demonstrate an ability and interest in reading, interpreting and communicating technical information.
• Demonstrate a willingness and ability to solve problems, prioritize duties and complete required tasks effectively.
• Ability to learn the principles, procedures and techniques involved in incident/congestion management and general traffic signal design.
• Ability to utilize integrated software along with radio, voice, email, data communications.
• Ability to obtain and disseminate relevant information from a variety of resources including CCTV, field personnel, internet, two-way radio and customers.
• Ability to solve problems, prioritize duties and complete required tasks promptly.
• Must be a team player, be able to work independently, and can work well with various personality types.
• Consistently present a positive and professional image.
• Must be organized, responsible and timely.
