Role Overview

The Traffic Data Collection Engineer (Civil Engineer V) is responsible for supervising the daily functions of the Statewide Traffic Data Collection (TDC) Section, including scheduling and implementation of traffic data collection programs. The position requires on-site presence four days a week and follows a hybrid work schedule. The engineer will work with various teams, vendors, and equipment providers to ensure the collection and analysis of traffic data.

The Traffic Data Collection Engineer will perform various duties, including supervising staff, managing projects, and ensuring the quality of traffic data. The engineer will also be responsible for training staff in proper traffic data collection techniques and analysis procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or civil engineering technology
  • At least six years of full-time, or equivalent part-time, technical or professional experience in civil engineering work
  • At least four years of experience in a professional capacity
  • At least two years of experience in a supervisory capacity
  • Possession of a current and valid Massachusetts Class D Motor Vehicle Operator's License
