Role OverviewJoin CPKC as a Train Conductor, a foundational role in the railway, where you'll work as part of a train crew, assisting in switching rail cars, making or splitting up trains in rail yards, or moving rail cars between rail yards. This position requires vigilance about safety and flexibility with unscheduled shift work.
What You Will Do
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include performing physically demanding work, such as walking up to 6 miles a day, climbing, lifting, and pulling heavy objects, and working outdoors in all types of weather conditions. You'll also be responsible for carrying out specific instructions, coordinating the switching of cars, and maintaining a thorough understanding of safety instructions and operating rules.

Requirements
- Must be able to perform work that can be physically demanding
- Willingness to work unscheduled shift work in a 24/7 operating environment
- Working up to 12 hour shifts
- Ability to report to work within a two hour call window
- Excellent focus, attention to detail and ability to multitask
- Strong communication skills
- Willingness to work outdoors in all types of weather conditions for long periods of time
- Must be able to pass the required physical job tasks for the job position
- Must be at least 18 years old
- High school diploma or general equivalency
- Valid driver's license
