Role OverviewThe Training Specialist is responsible for supporting the Director of Training and Development in coordinating, delivering, and facilitating training programs for new and existing employees. This role involves overseeing key training resources, assisting in the creation and maintenance of instructional materials, and tracking employee progress within Westmark’s professional development programs.
What You Will Do
Key responsibilities include training coordination, new employee orientation, learning management system administration, program support, career path program coordination, mentor program facilitation, content development, product and service training, classroom setup and maintenance, proofreading and quality assurance, training gap analysis, and customized training.

Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent, with a minimum of 3 years of relevant training or instructional experience within a financial institution;
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field with 2 years of relevant training experience;
- An equivalent combination of formal education, training, and applicable experience.
- Organizational Skills: Strong ability to manage multiple tasks with excellent attention to detail and effective time management.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to deliver engaging training programs to diverse audiences.
- Self-Starter: Proactive in identifying opportunities, taking initiative, and driving tasks to completion with minimal supervision.
- Adaptability and Flexibility: Ability to respond to changing needs, challenges, and feedback in a constructive manner.
- Collaboration: Able to work well with colleagues and managers across different departments to achieve training objectives.
- Creativity and Innovation: Skilled at designing and implementing engaging, high-quality learning materials.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Adobe, as well as Articulate Storyline or other eLearning content authoring tools.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Capable of assessing training needs and developing practical solutions.
- Customer Service Orientation: Committed to supporting team members and providing excellent service.
- Financial Knowledge: Understanding of Westmark’s products, services, systems, and policies, or the ability to quickly learn.
