Job Description
Role Overview

HDR is an employee-owned firm seeking a Transit Intern to join its Transportation Business Group in Los Angeles, California. The intern will support transportation projects and public transportation clients throughout the Southern California Region, working on a team with other project engineers on the detailed design of urban and rural transit projects.

What You Will Do

Provide project engineering/project delivery support with a focus on transportation projects and public transportation clients. Assist with the creation and submission of technical reports, specifications, and calculations. Perform other duties as needed.

Why It Might Be a Fit

The ideal candidate will commit to working approximately 20 hours per week on-site, receiving mentorship from a licensed engineer. Required qualifications include being currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate Engineering program, attention to detail, strong problem-solving and communication skills, and basic Microsoft Office skills. Preferred qualifications include 2 years completed toward degree with 3.0+ GPA, demonstrated knowledge of software packages related to field of study/industry, and experience with MicroStation, InRoads, AutoCAD, and Civil 3D.
