Role OverviewThe Transportation Assistant is responsible for providing safe, dependable, and timely transportation for residents on and off campus, as well as assisting with campus mail distribution. This position provides professional, hospitality-focused service to residents, families, guests, and team members while supporting Sunnyside’s mission of Inspiring a Spirit of Community and Well-Being.
What You Will Do
Transport residents and passengers to scheduled medical appointments and other destinations as needed. Safely operate all Sunnyside vehicles, including wheelchair buses, vans, and passenger vehicles. Provide timely campus shuttle services while adhering to designated schedules.

Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Basic reading, writing, and math skills.
- Proficiency in operating a personal computer and general office equipment.
- Ability to accurately process information, make appropriate decisions, and take effective action based on available information.
- Valid Virginia driver’s license and ability to meet driver eligibility requirements in accordance with Sunnyside policy HR069.
- Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) preferred.
- CPR and First Aid certification, or ability to obtain certification.
- Ability to handle confidential information and maintain its integrity.
