Role Overview

The Transportation Construction Inspector is responsible for consulting with contractors, consultants, engineers, and others in matters related to plans, specifications, materials, equipment, and safety precautions involved in construction and installation of work. The inspector prepares daily progress reports and maintains progress schedules, checks shop drawings and contractors' quotations, and keeps records of quantities and cost of materials used.

What You Will Do

Ensure compliance with contract documents, check delivered materials, prepare and submit daily reports, and perform manual labor as required. Travel around the Greater Scranton area as needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED, or post-secondary education
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
  • Ability to perform basic math computations
  • OSHA 10-Hour certification
  • NICET Level 2 or higher in Transportation/Highway Construction
  • NECEPT Bituminous field certification
  • ACI/PennDOT Concrete field technician certification
  • PennDOT/PTC CDS certification
  • ECMS experience
